Active Design Guidelines

ADG stands for Active Design Guidelines and is a project that is currently underway at the Miami Center for Architecture & Design (MCAD).  This work is funded through the Florida Department of Health’s PICH Grant (Partners in Improving Community Health) and fits into a larger framework geared towards improving health in our community.

ADG was first developed by AIA New York and the New York Health Department  as a means of providing planners, urban designers, architects and others involved with the built environment with a manual of strategies for creating healthier buildings, streets, and urban spaces.
